Comment - This print shows a giant rogue wave threatening three fishing boats off the coast in Sagami Bay in Kanagawa Prefecture, while the Mount Fuji rises in the background. This print is the most iconic representative of Japanese Art in general. Unfortunately it doesn't contain any kite ,-)) .The print is often cited in advertisements of any kind, and many artists worlwide used the theme for their own works of art. The Great Wave as an animated version is not only "Great Wave" but also "Great Fun" for all playful art enthusiasts. You may experience HOKUSAI's "Tea House at Koishikawa" (Koishikawa yuki no ashita, 礫川雪の旦 ) and watch what happend "The morning after a snowfall"!!!

The original version by HOKUSAI may be seen under this link.
