Comment - This print shows a giant rogue wave threatening three fishing boats off the coast in Sagami Bay in Kanagawa Prefecture, while the Mount Fuji rises in the background. This print is the most iconic representative of Japanese Art in general. Unfortunately it doesn't contain any kite ,-)).The print is is to be seen on the 1000Yen bill, on stamps and T-Shirts, often cited in advertisements of any kind, and many artists worldwide used the theme for their own works of art. Series - The series "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji"  ("富嶽三十六景", Fugaku Sanjūrokkei) includes some of HOKUSAI's greatest masterpieces. These fantastic images portray the strength and majesty of nature, leading the viewer to contemplate man's place in relation to the natural world. The series "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji" justly remains HOKUSAI's most famous and highly regarded work.
