Comment - A Sugoroku board featuring images of activities for the twelve months of the year. Sugoroku is a dice game similar to snakes and ladders that was popular with both adults and children. Players start on the second rectangle from top center, which shows boys readying a large kite depicting a crane and red sun Edo kite for flying on New Year's Day, and move around the board, ending at the rectangle below, which shows men pounding rice. At lower right, offerings are piled on a tray for viewing the full moon in August, while the scene at upper left depicts a Girls' Day display of dolls for March.
