'Winter Scene with Boy and Yakko Kite'

1950ies

Comment - Winter scene with a boy in traditional snow boots and a colorful hood. He flies a yakko kite and holds a simple kite roll in his left hand. A path winds up to some small huts, two children walk alongside. Trees adorn the background, and a snow-capped mountain range can be seen on the horizon. Maybe around New Year's. Flying kites is a traditional pastime for boys on New Year's Day. The text may be read as "Kid's World" (Seikoku kodomo,世国子供).

Perhaps formerly tipped onto the top cover of a post-war Japanese greeting card or calendar (remains of glue on top back edge).
