Comment - Kabuki scene from the "Actors' Pilgrimage to the Treasure-Bestowing Deities" ("Haiyū e takara mai", "俳優得宝詣"). With the actors Ichikawa Sansho (市川三升, smaller actor) right margin (right panel) and Torazonoyo Takeshi (虎園代丈) left margin (right panel). The latter is holding a "Wishing Tree"-twig in his left hand. Ichikawa Hakuen (市川白猿) center (alternative: 5th generation Ichikawa Ebizo (5代 市川 海老蔵)), left panel is holding a pipe in his right hand. Two prints of a supposed pentaptych with a multitude of kites. For reference, click on the picture for numbering of kites and other specifics. The missing panels (at least a pentaptych) contain more kites. Compare the collection of three missing panels.
