Comment - Charming look inside the Kuki-ro (Hisakichi-ro) teahouse featuring from right, the courtesans Takihashi, Takiaya, and Takigawa relaxing in their spare time Their names are written within the yellowish cassettes next to them. At left, Takigawa pauses as she writes a letter, a thoughtful look on her face, the paper trailing over her kneel. A young kamuro girl (child apprentice) on the floor nearby looks though books with woodblock print illustrations. On the left of this panel is a shamisen (musical instrument) leaning on the wall, a calligrafy poem is hanging behind Takiwawa courtesan. In the center panel, a kamuro girl is kneeling on the windowsill and gestures excitedly to the boats in the harbor. Another kamuro girl carries a tray with a teapot and cups on it, her kimono decorated with two yakko-dako or man kites, a bird of prey kite and an owl kite with red wings. An Okame fan on the upper center right panel is hanging on the wall a lucky sign. A lovely design with wonderful detail in the setting and household furnishings.

The title is drawn within the yellowish cassette on the upper right of the right panel.
