Comment - A charming image of a beauty carrying a decorative battledore for a New Year's game similar to badminton (hanetsuki) in her right, and a shuttlecock in her left hand. The battledore is painted with a part of a bamboo (stem node) with leaves of a small sprout, hinting at New Year's. She is wearing a kimono decorated with a turtle like pattern, and floral designs.  The lady seems to float on a cloud like environment, characterized by a rim of clouds behind her shoulders.  A red medallion on the upper right maybe the symbolized sun of the Japanese flag, with a Yakko kite ("yakko dako", "奴凧") or man kite in the center, along with a bow, that might be a part of a kite musical instrument ('hummer').
