Takamizawa Reprint (Taisho era, 1911 - 1925)

Comment - A charming Edo era scene showing two women stretching fabric over a balcony to dry in the summertime. A little boy is playing under the stretched fabric. Two flounders are hanging on a trestle pole of the scaffold, drying in the sun. A small bird near the flounders peeks down. Lovely scenery beyond with two Edo kites ("Edo-tako", "江戸凧") and a Bird-of prey kite ("tonbi dako", "鳶凧") are floating in the spring breeze. Cherry blossoms flowering below the balcony. Soft bokashi shading in the sky and water.
